Alcoholism, abject poverty, abuse, and drugs...any of our youth could tell you stories about those things because they're learning to talk about them so they lose their power. 

 

The goal is to give them stories to tell about hope and joy and belonging and being celebrated.  We want them to experience lunches together in a restaurant like a family and game nights.  We long to hear them excitedly recount birthdays being celebrated and we want to them, even as High School and College students, proudly show-off their school work on the fridge. 

 

​They're learning that families are supposed to be safe places filled with encouragement and even though sometimes not created by blood, can be formed by love.
